Wenda Watteyne has extensive experience in working with Aboriginal peoples and organizations and the federal government with an emphasis in building capacity and shaping public policy.
Born and raised in rural southwestern Saskatchewan, she has lived and worked in Ottawa for over twelve years where she has had the opportunity to be engaged in issues and processes of importance to First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. Experience as a senior manager and advisor to a series of national leaders has provided her with an appreciation of issues facing those in rural, urban, northern and remote communities across Canada.
She has acquired an understanding of federal legislative and parliamentary processes through working within the House of Commons and through advocating issues at all levels of government. Knowledge of national issues combined with experience in intergovernmental processes is cornerstone in her endeavours. Much of her efforts are focused on building constructive and beneficial relations with government departments on policy and program matters.
She is committed to collaboration and believes in the benefits of partnering and drawing on the skills and talents of others in the field.
